Ph. D. Gad Sabbatier

Gad Sabbatier obtained a joint PhD in materials and metallurgical engineering from Université Laval and in mechanical engineering from Université de Haute-Alsace in 2015 in the field of biomaterials. Gad then worked as a researcher at Queen's University and McGill University on collaborative research contracts with companies. He then joined SOVAR and Axelys, organizations dedicated to the development and transfer of innovation from public research. With a Certificate in Educational Leadership from Queen's University, Gad is an outstanding trainer with 15 years of experience. He has a keen understanding of the challenges of transitioning from academia to non-academic careers through his personal experience, his position as co-founder of the 2nd Lab, and having accompanied 150+ graduate students and post-doctoral researchers toward careers meaningful for society.
